30 days

Every 30 minutes a Worker fetches each site’s home page and build stamp from inside Cloudflare and writes down what it saw. One slot per check, oldest on the left; a hatched slot is a check that didn’t run.

The history needs JavaScript: it comes from /api/history, which this page reads when it can.

What’s checked

A status page that only says “green” isn’t worth much. Here is what the green means, and what it doesn’t.

  • Up means the stamp answered. /build.json is one small static file. If it comes back, Cloudflare is serving that site’s files. It doesn’t prove every page, game or picture works. When a stamp can’t be read from here (a site not deployed since the page began reading stamps), the page asks its home page instead, which only shows that something answered.
  • Code isn’t exercised. slopped.site, Learn, GeoCities, Top and Status also run a Worker script (badges and labs, counters, this page’s history). Nothing here calls those; only their static files are checked.
  • Your view, and Cloudflare’s. The live check runs in your browser, through the Cloudflare location nearest you. The history comes from inside Cloudflare, every 30 minutes. If one says down and the other up, it may be your connection, or one location.
  • Caches. The stamp is fetched with a query that skips caches. Pages can still be cached for a short while after a deploy, so a new commit here doesn’t mean every page you load is new yet.
  • Data agrees when a site’s stamp carries the same knowledge-graph, artwork and secrets versions as the others, and slopped.site’s copy of its sitemap is the one it serves. The same comparison npm run live-check makes.
  • Nothing about you. The page stores nothing in your browser, and the history Worker never sees who reads this. It keeps 30 days of checks: times, states, answer times and commits.
